I can't just give it if it's wanted, if it's wrong to give it.
If I do to placate the heart-felt tears and the real emotional cry for it, I will encourage that mentality and cripple them -- because if I truly know better (and that is an assumption!) then I must teach them that their emotions must always be weighed WITH other evidence when planning an ACTION.
If the emotional need is focused upon, then the brain will devise any NUMBER of ways, MANY (the vast majority) of which will be flawed in some way and will cause damage, and will urge the soul to meet the need NOW as it FEELS right.
And yet, "unless you be like little children...."
But so, "But not yet in understanding be ye like children; be mature in understanding, and childlike in having no rooted malice."
But then the question is.. WHO is right?
The cryer might be right -- or the one hearing might be.
Comfort the cryer when you sense the need is real -- but never assume (in fact assume always EXACTLY the OPPOSITE) that that cryer knows the most optimal way to meet it. The stronger the cry, the more likely it reflects a problem that occludes the cryers' vision.
